# drobek

> drobek is an open-source cloud workspace for small web apps that your AI agent builds over MCP: every write compiles into a version with a preview URL, and publishing puts it live. This is https://www.drobek.app/ as Markdown.

## Using an AI agent?

Give it this page or https://drobek.app/llms.txt: it tells the agent how to connect and build.

**Agents, do this:**

1. Read https://drobek.app/llms.txt: the MCP server, every tool and the rules. The full contract: https://drobek.app/llms-full.txt.
2. Connect the MCP server https://drobek.app/mcp (OAuth: the user signs in once in the browser). Claude Code:

   ```sh
   claude mcp add --transport http drobek https://drobek.app/mcp
   ```

   then the user runs `/mcp` → drobek → sign in. Or install the plugin, which adds the server and the build skill:

   ```sh
   claude plugin marketplace add freema/drobek-plugin
   claude plugin install drobek@drobek
   ```

   Claude (web, desktop): add a custom connector with the URL https://drobek.app/mcp. Cursor, Codex: [connect](https://www.drobek.app/docs/agent#connect).
3. Create the app and write its files. Every write compiles and returns the result: fix what fails, then give the user the preview URL.
4. Publish only when the user asks.

A prompt to start from (the user adds the app idea):

> Read https://drobek.app/llms.txt and connect the drobek MCP server https://drobek.app/mcp. If a step needs me, such as signing in, tell me exactly what to do. Then build me: …

## Choose where to run it

Try my hosted instance at [drobek.app](https://drobek.app/login), or
[run the same open-source core on your own server](https://www.drobek.app/docs/self-hosting).
The [agent plugins](https://github.com/freema/drobek-plugin) connect to either instance.

## How it works

1. Add https://drobek.app/mcp to Claude, Claude Code, Cursor or Codex and approve it once.
2. Ask for an app. The agent writes it straight into your workspace.
3. Every write compiles and is kept as a version with a preview link, `<app>--preview.drobek.app`.
4. Say publish. It is live at `<app>.drobek.app` or your own domain.

## Backend components

Platform modules give your apps their backend, on drobek.app or your own server. Your agent configures them and you confirm sensitive changes — auth (sign-in with an e-mailed code), data (collections with per-operation access rules), forms, email, files (uploads with a per-app quota) and proxy (third-party APIs, the key kept on the server). Secrets are set in the dashboard, never through the agent.
